Preparing To Dig The Foundations  -  July 2009

We had the digger delivered to site from SJL on the afternoon before we actually needed it, which was quite handy, that way we would not be standing around in the morning twiddling out thumbs waiting for the low loader. That afternoon Russell also popped over to have a look at the site, and advised us that we should put in Batter-boards in each corner to act as a guide for the Digger & Driver (Tim).
Luckily I had some planks of wood and some wooden poles laying around, so I set to making and cementing in the Batter-boards, which in itself was a minor pain, we had a lot of measuring and squaring to do to get it dead right, took a while, but we got it done by the end of the day, and was looking forward to breaking ground the next day :-)    (Video Clip Here)
